Your Habits are Killing Your Quality of Life.

How to start living a higher quality life through habit assessments.

If you’re reading this, you probably feel as if you could do better than your present self.

You might have some good habits, although most or half of them are negatively affecting your state of mind.

The way you define yourself as a person should have a lot to do with how you productize yourself.

No man is defined as a single trait.

He is defined through the habits & actions he takes on a consistent basis.

  • Whether they’re negative.

  • Whether they’re positive.

It ultimately comes down to one thing, and that is the portrayed discipline that they express.

If a man wakes up at 6am everyday, goes for a run & returns home to perform deep work, he will usually be labeled as “disciplined” & “put-together.”

Compared to a man who wakes up at 1pm, spends an hour or two scrolling on social media & ultimately does nothing productive throughout the day, who will be labeled as “lazy” & “useless.”

No matter how much more he may know than the first man, he will still be labeled as these traits.

Overall, you can ultimately see what message it is that I am conveying here.

So, the question you came here to answer…

Better Habits

There is no one-way to go about this, as it ultimately depends on the life you are trying to go for.

If you want a more laid back type of lifestyle, you will of course try to look for those habits that bring you mental peace, away from society.

And if you want a more bustling & louder lifestyle, you will look for those habits that bring you closer to other people.

For this article, I will go over a more laid back lifestyle considering the fact that this is what I go for.

Habit Assessment.

Take a moment to jot down your habits.

Make a table with two header columns.

  • The first being a “Positive.”

  • The second being a “Negative.”

The key here is to be completely honest with yourself.

Don’t hold back & don’t lie as this will lead to more harm than good.

You never want to cheat yourself.

Now that you have these two columns, take 5-10 minutes to go over your habits & place them accordingly.

Play calm music.

Go to a quiet setting.

You want to be focused & immersed while you are doing this.

The Next Step.

Now that you have written down your positive habits & your negative habits, create an action plan to chip away at those negative habits & replace them with the positive.

If you have to write down positive habits that you don’t currently possess but want to possess, feel more than free to do so.

Studies show that when you write down an action you want to take, your mind subconsciously works towards it.

This action plan should serve as a personal roadmap that gives you clear directions to a higher-quality lifestyle.

Whether this roadmap goes over a 3 month timeline or a 12-month timeline, what matters is that you make progress no matter how fast or how slow it takes to achieve the common goal of habit formation & transformation.

Conclusion

Now that you have a good idea of the habits you need to cut out & replace, it should be much easier for you to accomplish the quality lifestyle you originally wanted as the process is much clearer to process & progress through.

Whenever you may find yourself in a rut or at question, retake this simple system to reconstruct your ideal lifestyle.
