Pain is Your Biggest Obstacle
3 Ways to Overcome Mental Pain
The pain you’re experiencing is temporary.
You are essentially the only one who can control your emotions. Whether you feel angry, sad or happy, most of it is mental.
Although when it comes to mental & physical pain, you are the only one who can bring yourself to a certain level of either accepting it or overcoming it.
Nowadays I believe there are too many individuals becoming weaker & weaker, simply because they choose to accept the pain they go through. Instead of going to the gym, learning a new habit or going out in nature to self-reflect, these individuals choose to sit at home & do nothing about it.
They get used to disrespecting & breaking promises to themselves.
They don’t choose to grow.
A 3rd Perspective
I know what happens to people that deny their pain.
I’ve seen it happen to old friends & even some family. These people are going through severe mental pain & are resorting to external substances.
Essentially making their dilemma even worse.
Substances including;
Weed
Alcohol
Drugs
It’s just unhealthy.
Most people become hooked on these substances especially when they start to go through unfortunate life experiences. This is essentially why it’s important to be aware of several self-improvement strategies that are strived to help overcome mental struggles.
The 3 Mental Strongitudes
There are several ways of overcoming mental struggles although I’ll be diving into 3 specific strategies & hobbies I personally use whenever I find myself in a mental struggle.
Working Out
I believe working out is an essential hobby most people should acquire.
It not only distracts you from your mental struggles but it also;
Builds a stronger, fortified mindset
Keeps you energized
Enhances mental performance
Enhances confidence
I’ve been into fitness & sports since the 4th grade & I just have to say that everybody should try a sport or at least workout everyday.
Whether it’s going for a run, a lift session, calisthenics or a simple HIIT session, you will quickly experience the benefits & enhancements.
Journaling
One of the best & most underrated ways of overcoming mental struggles has to be journaling.
Simply writing down your thoughts & struggles in a personal journal can help with the following;
Mental Clarity
Understanding Yourself
Writing Improvement
You’re getting your thoughts out on paper. You’re understanding yourself on a deeper level. You’re improving your ability to write.
Essentially knocking 3 birds with one stone.
Nature Immersement
I love going out in nature. (As long as it isn’t nighttime!)
I feel as if I’m becoming one with the trees & bushes around me. I’m gaining a fresh outlook on the world. I’m noticing things I haven’t noticed before.
I believe everybody should become more enthusiastic about nature & consider engulfing themselves in it as much as they possibly can.
