Sprinting = better brand perception?
What I learned from my college track meet yesterday
Yesterday, I was at a track meet.
I woke up at 4:30am to take a cold shower, head on over to a friend's dorm building lobby to write my email, do some outreach & eat food I had stocked up the night before.
My race started at 3:15pm.
I was running 100m & 200m sprints at the meet.
When the time came, it was the last heat of girls 100m.
I did some short sprints to get myself prepared.
Then once the last heat of girls 100m went, it was time for the men's side to go up.
It was me & 2 other sprinters.
I set up my blocks.
Tested the block positioning with a quick sprint.
Then, the announcer told us to get ready.
I got down, and waited for the announcer to say "SET".
I took a deep breath.
7 seconds later, all I heard was a loud gunshot.
Which means, it was time to SPRINT.
I had the guy next to me off the start.
Surpassed him up until the 50m mark, then my top speed began to sink.
At the end, he managed to surpass me by 5-8m.
I was PISSED OFF.
"I'm better than this" I thought to myself.
However, I knew there were many more opportunities for myself to do better next time.
Now, what does this have to do with brand perception?
Well, for starters.
It definitely doesn't mean that the quickest action takers, lose in the end.
(While there may be some truth to that)
It means that you will fail.
And that's fine.
As long as you're working towards a better version of yourself everyday.
You will eventually stand out.
So, keep building.
Don't worry about how much money others are making.
Do what you have to do every day & get it done.
That's how you will not only surpass your competition.
But yourself.
Anyways, that's all for me.
Until next time,
