Environments Matter!
The unsaid truth to achieving your most desired goals.
Your environment determines everything.
If you can’t bring yourself to optimize that environment for your own well-being, good luck achieving your goals. You may believe it’s just a theory.
When in reality, it’s been proven that we are either more or less likely to achieve our goals when we are in a certain environment.
It’s crucial you are always optimizing it — whether you need to optimize the people you’re around, the room you work in, where you workout, etc.
Small factors matter.
Eventually those small factors, will compound & add up to the bigger outcome.
Once you realize how to efficiently optimize your environment, all that’s left to do is to put the necessary goal-oriented actions to work.
Give it a year & you will see drastic improvement.
The Kitchen
There is a prime reason you can’t bring yourself to adjust & optimize your environment. (You may have never had the right tools to do so)
You might not have had the right people around you to correct yourself on your flaws.
Feedback is crucial. (Especially when you can’t see those flaws for yourself)
Let’s say your goal is to jump higher.
You need to partake in actions that will help you achieve a higher vertical.
Those being:
Plyometrics [Ground, Pool, Sand]
Fast Twitch Muscle Work
Jumping Mechanics
Weights
If you place yourself in an environment where everybody is a sprinter — you will most likely end up a sprinter.
However, if you’re placing yourself in an environment where everybody plays basketball or is a high jumper — you’ll most likely end up with a high vertical.
It’s all about your environment & how you optimize it to reach your goals.
Say your goal is to eat a healthy nutrient-dense breakfast — you have to deliberately adjust your pantry with healthy foods.
If you buy into unhealthy snacks at the market, what do you believe will happen? (I believe you get the gist here)
Environment Assessment
Now that you know why your environment is crucial — how can you put this into practice in your own life?
First, grab a pen & paper.
List out your goal on the top of the paper.
Write out the environment you need to be in to achieve this goal. (Use the previous example above for inspiration or use google)
After writing out the environment you need to be in — create an action plan.
What do you need to do every day, that will move you closer to your preferred environment?
Do you need to be in a certain gym?
Do you need to buy more healthy foods?
Do you need to be around a certain persona?
Take this piece of paper — stick it up on your fridge, your wall.
A place where you can be reminded of your preferred environment everyday.
Repetition is the key to your ultimate strivation.
Revision
In essence — your ability to achieve your goals comes down to your ability to place yourself within an environment that will allow you to do so in a shorter timeframe.
Sure, you may be able to achieve your goals in the wrong environment an excessive amount of time later — yet it’s not ideal.
You might not get the necessary tips, feedback & advice from the people around you.
