Stress is an Atom in Disguise.
Your guide to easily combatting stress.
Stress is easier to overcome than you may fathom.
What seems big in the moment, just isn’t so when you’re looking years down the line. Cultivate the ability to zoom out & attain a farsighted perspective.
Once you learn how to adopt a farsighted perspective, you’ll instantly begin to see yourself overcoming stress in a simpler manner than if you were to go to a therapist for example.
Although, not everybody can attain a farsighted perspective for a couple of reasons…
Lack of Exposure
I get it.
Not everyone is blessed with good role models in their lives.
I’ve experienced second-hand from friends & friends’ loved ones.
What matters is that you take the initiative to change & surround yourself with higher-level individuals.
Our level of success is measured by our capability to handle stress.
Now, a few reasons you may not be able to overcome stress may be because you’re not:
Brain Dumping
Prioritizing Alone Time
Living a Healthy Lifestyle
Clear about your Direction in Life
Now that we have covered a couple of reasons why you might be stressed out & unable to overcome it, it’s time to jump into actionable advice you can take today to instantly overcome stress & become clear about what is holding you back.
Journaling
Journaling has helped me in many ways.
It helped me:
Realize why I felt the way I did.
Dump out my thoughts.
Overlook my emotions.
Reflect on my actions.
By doing this I’ve been able to not only improve on the benefits above, yet it also helped me become a better writer.
I have been able to improve my ability to articulate certain emotions & feelings that I would not have been able to do in the past.
Pick up a physical notepad. (Or download my free journal)
List out the following prompts & questions:
Mental Iterations
What went well?
What didn’t go well?
How can I improve for the next day?
Within Mental Iterations, this is where you can dump out your current emotions, thoughts & experiences.
For example, you can write about the experience of meeting a new person or trying something new.
You want to write in this prompt as much as you can throughout the day.
Once it’s evening, this is when you look over your iterations & answer the 3 reflection questions you wrote.
Do this every single day & look over it the next morning.
Strive to understand yourself so you can improve yourself.
Schedule Reduction
What’s on your schedule?
Are you bombarded with events & to-dos?
If so, how does it make you feel?
What time are these events & to-dos set for?
Can you possibly move them to a time later in the day?
Your hours from morning to noon are your most precious hours of the day.
If you can’t bring yourself to prioritize your golden hours then it’s no wonder you can’t overcome your stress.
Mental overload directly leads to stress.
Your ability to handle & reduce unnecessary overload is what will bring you forth. (As well as make your life easier to handle.)
Take the time today — or this week — to clear out your schedule.
Prioritize what is urgent & either reschedule or cancel what is not.
You can’t expect to achieve a goal when your mind is going 50 different directions at once.
Clear Direction
If you’re driving with no direction in mind, where will you end up?
You’ll end up being led by the road, not your desires.
The same goes for your life.
If you have no clear mission or goal in life, it’s no wonder you’re not able to overcome stress.
You overcome stress by
Knowing where you want to end up.
Prioritizing daily actions to get there.
Keeping track of your completion towards these actions.
If you want to live a lifestyle of maximized health in all areas, your daily actions would prioritize exercise, mindfulness & alone time.
When you are clear about your direction in life, you can easily take on habitual actions that will move you forward with no hesitation.
Systems support long term goals.
Revision
At the end of the day, your ability to overcome stress comes down solely to your ability to understand yourself & act according to your vision & life goals.
Use these pieces of advice for your own good.
You won’t regret taking the time to optimize & sort out your life in order to overcome stress on a consistent basis.
Reflect
Do you relate to this?
If so, how can you use this advice to improve your personal life?
