Warm Showers Suck.

3 Benefits to Cold Showers

I’m a cold enthusiast.

I can’t stand the heat as opposed to the cold. I feel as if the heat drains the energy I have straight out of me. It makes me want to lay down.

Therefore, I believe that cold showers & cold weather rocks.

Whenever I hear people say that they’re scared of cold showers, I sort of cringe.

Simply because the benefits reaped from it are immense compared to warm showers.

With that being said let’s dive into it.

My Story

I’ve been taking cold showers ever since I was a toddler.

I’ve been forced into it very early on.

It was definitely painful at first, although with time throughout middle school, I started taking cold showers more frequently.

Now I will admit that I have taken an equal amount of warm showers compared to cold showers up until my senior year, although for the past 3+ months I have strictly taken only cold showers.

I haven’t had a warm shower in what feels like forever.

I’ve only been in a jacuzzi at a college friend’s house & that is it.

Apart from that, it’s been fairly strict.

Therefore the benefits of consistent cold showers have been found to be immense & majorly underrated.

I’ll go over three of them.

High Energy Levels

Whenever I take a cold shower, I feel my energy levels tenfold.

The cold blast from the shower head shocks my body every time.

It feels amazing.

It makes you feel like you’re alive again.

For example, every morning if I somehow didn’t go for an early run, I’d take a cold shower anyway just to wake myself up & get my mind ready for the day.

After all, starting the day off with torture or shock prepares you for anything else you come across within the rest of the day.

Warm showers on the other hand tend to decrease energy levels.

It’s no wonder saunas are steaming hot considering the fact that they’re intended to make you feel relaxed & at ease.

Better Skin

Another surprising benefit to taking cold showers would be the fact that my skin has never breaked out or has been ugly simply because of the fact that I take cold showers.

Warm showers are great to open up your pores although cold showers help seal those pores & nourish it.

It’s why you see people with good skin wash their face with warm water to open up their pores, cleanse, then use cold water to finish off & seal off those pores.

It isn’t rocket science.

Breathwork & Control

As a lifelong athlete, cold showers helped me not only control my emotions however it helped me breathe better.

As an athlete, you need to be able to stay calm in tense atsituations & your breathwork helps with just that.

As stated before in the beginning of this letter, I was introduced to cold showers early on in my childhood.

It’s why I never had stamina or endurance issues in my basketball or football games compared to most kids my age.

It’s exactly why I use cold showers to train my breathwork & self-control.

Revision

Between you & me, at this point I take cold showers just for the fun of it.

The benefits are still there, I’m just so used to it that everything else becomes second nature.

If you don’t take cold showers already, set a reminder to yourself & consider taking more of them.

You won’t regret it.

Bullet Summary

For those who skip to the end, here’s what we covered;

High Energy Levels

Better Skin

Breathwork & Control
